Newsletter - October 24, 2010 - Volume 1 - Issue 1

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Frydman_ReneI am honored and pleased to assume the presidency of the International Society for In Vitro Fertilization (ISIVF), and look forward to realizing the goals of the society together with our able executive and board members, which will be facilitated with the launcing of our new website.

I join in congratulating Professor Robert Edwards on being the recipient of the Nobel Prize in medicine.

Since the birth of the world's first successful "test-tube" baby in Great Britain, which he made possible, many advances were achieved in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology. The need for a forum bringing together clinicians, scientists, and embryologists became inevitable and the World Congress on In Vitro Fertilization was created.

For the past 26 years, this Congress has become a major event in the calendar of physicians and scientists in the field of reproductive health. It is our aim to continue with organizing this Congress and we are pleased to announce that the 16th World Congress on IVF will be jointly held in Tokyo, Japan from September 10-13, 2011.

I am calling upon you today to join the International Society for In Vitro Fertilization. The benefits to our members will be numerous. But we also trust that your membership will benefit the IVF community, whether from your contributions to the various forums, or from the networking opportunities that you will provide or capitalize on.
